Dear Students,
It is befitting that Manonmaniam Sundaranar University is partnering with BIFM (BLB Society for Education and Research) – pioneer and leader in Financial Markets Education for Diploma & Degree programs such as PGD in Financial Planning and Wealth Management, BBA and MBA in Financial Markets Management.
The Govt. of India is keen to spread financial literacy among the masses. The financial markets industry is facing an acute shortage of skilled professionals capable of handling huge funds. The daily average turnover as estimated by NSE is roughly over one lakh crore while the mutual funds collectively manage more than 8 lakh crores of assets. The commodities markets are growing and are much larger than stock markets. There are around 18.8 crore investors and another 20 crores are likely to join. Financial market industry is facing huge skill shortage. BIFM (working under the aegis of BLB Society for Education and Research) and MSU (a well established state university working since 1990) are making joint efforts to promote Financial Markets Management (FMM) as a new academic discipline to bridge up the gap between demand and supply of financial market professionals.
Manonmaniam Sundaranar Universityas a policy is promoting innovative courses in technical collaboration with progressive organizations like BIFM who have specialized in promoting industry specific skill sets by blending skills with academics.
I hope that the students studying at BIFM in BBA / MBA in Financial Markets Management as well as PG students of Financial Planning and Wealth Management will not only acquire the necessary skills needed by financial market industry but also will acquire in-depth knowledge.
